Engaging with others who have a similar role can help us to maintain vision and motivation, to keep well informed and to think ahead. Here are some options to consider:
Volunteering Wales Network (VWN)
This network of practitioners and managers of volunteer programmes
is intended for those who are actively involved in managing
volunteer programmes. It aims to be the co-ordinated voice of
volunteering in Wales, to influence policy makers at national and
local level and to promote good practice within organisations that
work with volunteers.
You can download the Terms of
Reference and read articles on
issues that have been discussed by the Network.
Current priorities of VWN are set out in A
manifesto for action on volunteering. These
include promoting and implementing the Welsh
Government Volunteering Policy (2015) Supporting
Communities, Changing Lives clarifying information around volunteering and
benefits keeping abreast of relevant research and ensuring that
volunteering is included within the planning and evaluation cycles
of the Wellbeing of
Future Generations (Wales) Act.
If you would like to know more about the VWN, or to join the
mailing list, please contact Fiona Liddell on email@example.com 02920
Volunteering Wales Youth Network (VWYN)
Similar to the Volunteering Wales Network, the VWYN brings together
those who are particularly interested in the development of youth
volunteering in Wales. You can download the terms of reference.
