Whether we like it or not social media (Facebook, Twitter,
YouTube etc) plays a huge part in the world we live in today.
As an organisation if you are not tweeting, updating your Facebook
or uploading YouTube videos to your website you are missing out on
vast amounts of publicity. Adding social media to your
organisation's profile could also help it survive.
Whether your voluntary group sells services or items to purchase
it will benefit immensely by having a presence on social
media. You may not like to receive news via Facebook or
Twitter but there are literally millions of people that do. If you
or your organisation recognises the importance of social media but
are reluctant to use it then VCVS' "An Introduction to Social Media
(absolute beginners guide)" is a must for you.

laptop/notepad/ipad/tablet if you have one!
Social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, have now
become essential tools for voluntary groups. This course is
an introduction to social media for people who would like to know
more about it and gain confidence in using it. At the end of
the course, you will be able to:
● define social media and social
● identify barriers to using social
● describe some of the key social media
● create social media accounts in the
practical session (Facebook, Twitter)
● take a strategic approach to your
social media use
