A celebration of trustees and the work they do.

Trustees Week

Trustees' Week is the annual event that showcases the fantastic work that trustees do for their charities, communities and the sector. Events all around the country will celebrate the achievements of trustees, as well as highlight opportunities for you to get involved with a local charity or voluntary organisation at board level.

To celebrate Trustees Week 2017 we're holding a number of events.....

Trustees' Week Launch event - 13 November 2017, Cardiff

PWC are launching the week with a breakfast event in collaboration with WCVA and Cynnal Cymru, showcasing the great work of Trustees and highlighting opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference. This session will give you valuable insights into how the work of charity Trustees is not only crucial to the charities they support but a vital link between the third sector and private sectors; employers and their employees.

The effective Chair/CEO Relationship - 17 November 2017, Cardiff

The relationship between the Chair and the CEO is critical to the good governance of an organisation. WCVA is running an event with the Association of Chairs, ACEVO and Blake Morgan exclusively for Chairs and Chief Officers of third sector organisations in Wales. The event will look at how to create and maintain an effective working relationship, as well as how to spot the warning signs and take action when problems in the relationship occur.  The event will also provide an invaluable opportunity to network with Chairs of other organisations in Wales.

What we offer trustees

WCVA offers a wide range of support to trustees. If you are interested in becoming a Trustee take a look at this 2 minute video to find out more.

Governance health check

We've created an interactive governance health check for trustee boards to use. It's a self assessment toolkit and is a great resource to help you ensure your organisation is as well governed as it can be. It can also assist boards of any size to demonstrate their good governance to funders, beneficiaries and stakeholders.

Faith and hope don't run charities (trustees do)

That's the title of our popular online publication written specifically for trustees, offering practical guidance to help boards deal with their management responsibilities, including strategic planning, being accountable for the development of the organisation, managing people and finances, and making decisions in the interest of the voluntary organisation.

The Good Governance award

Each year, the Third Sector Awards Cymru features a category devoted to the work of trustees. If your board is running your organisation in an exemplary fashion, why not tell us about it? You could win an award! The Third Sector Awards Cymru 2017 is currently open for nominations, but hurry the closing date is 10 November 2017.
